Rose Experiment

Traditionally, come July is the time to prune roses, so, last year I pruned my roses come July.
However , despite being well fed regularly, wetting agents and composts applied, and regular watering my roses this year have not bounced back and produced as well.

So this year I'm conducting an experiment. I have cut back the majority of my roses already, I think it was the end of May, and all bar two were HEAVILY pruned.

I pruned them back about three quarters, probably harder, heavily removing inward facing branches and deadwood.

I scattered rapid raiser, and blood and bone all around, along with soil wetter, and watered in well.

The last two roses that I've left, I will cut back in July, and as per normal, and have fed the same as the others to use as a sort of  control.

I will provide an update come spring!
Also please eignore my weeds, you know what it's like this time of year!
